The Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge is situated in Idaho's Panhandle, close to Bonners Ferry, and acts as a resting and feeding habitat for migrating waterfowl. The refuge's forest is home to elk, mule, white-tailed deer and moose, as well as a variety of birds.
